Matthew Mason-Hames

Associate Trainer

Mat has spent the last 20 years working in the retail and hospitality world and a leader and a trainer with his most recent role as a project manager on large scale change within the world of DIY . He has witnessed first-hand the struggles of balancing the demands of performance against the wellbeing of the people .
Mat started his journey into wellbeing by qualifying with NEBOSH and then realising that companies are very good at looking after the physical health of employees’ but not necessarily the mental health  was then inspired to study to become a Mental Health first aider, then a MHFA England trainer and most recently a Suicide first aider as well as studying personal fitness, utrition, workplace well-being along with Human Resources.
With his own history of Depression and GAD he is also able to call on lived experience as well as his technical knowledge about mental health and wellbeing.
Outside of work Mat is married, a stepdad to two amazing teenagers, a pet dad/grandad to 9 animals (and counting), and is also a player/coach and MHFAider for his local rugby team
